Industrial Mechanics
The work of industrial mechanics consists primarily in the installation, maintenance, repair and servicing of machinery and technical equipment on ships, in processing plants, industrial machines, factories, power plants and power substations. Industrial mechanics install machinery and technical equipment using drawings and other information from technicians and manufacturers when needed. Industrial mechanics plan preventative maintenance, keep track of the condition of machinery, find malfunctions if relevant and repair those. Authorised to work as industrial mechanics are those who have earned a journeymans certificate in industrial mechanics, issued by the Minister of Industry and Trade.
